In reply to Sonia. In a contra case, you calculate your sales proceeds which will directly pay for the purchased flat. Yes, Hdb will take your CPF, 50% cash then loan. You may choose to keep up to $20k in your CPF.

Hi, for contra may I check if the cash proceed calculation is the same as selling first, buy later? As in will we still get half proceeds as cash proceeds if we use contra? For contra, will they be taking cpf refunds + 50 percent proceeds and bal is loan? Thank you!

I’m the owner of the HDB flat in Danny’s story. When I read his blog, I’m so touched.
I came to know Danny while I was looking for an agent to rent out our HDB flat. The flat was vacant for many years due to the upgrading program. After the upgrading was completed, I wanted to rent it out. It was not easy to find an agent while you are overseas. I did a lot of research online and filtered out 2 agents. The first agent I called worked for a big real estate company. They have some standard process to follow. When I told him that my flat was vacant for many years, he was reluctant to even take a look at it. Then I called Danny. He sounded very nice and I feel an instant trust.
I asked my friend to hand him the keys, he sent me some photos of the flat. It was a mess! Luckily Danny agreed to help us find contractors clean up the flat, he even went out and found some reasonable priced appliances and furniture; The flat was quickly rented out.
After a few years, Danny suggested that we should renovate the flat so we can find good tenants and get higher rental. He put a lot of efforts to manage the renovation. We were so happy when we saw the photos after renovation.
Danny is a sincere, trust worthy person. I’d highly recommend him for any of your real estate need.
We were so lucky that we found Danny. He’s not only our agent, he has been our friend for a long time. Thank you Danny!
